We run this itinerary around the northern side of the volcano between forest trails and fun off-road paths on ancient lava flows. Our driver/guide will lead you through antique villages full of history and tradition, the old streets will soon leave their way to the characteristic paths in the rich woods of the beautiful “Parco dell’Etna” to gradually assist to the power of the Volcano and the deep changes which is able to make on the surrounding landscape. We start with a easy walk on the edge of extinct craters in order to understand the structure of the Volcano and the lifecycle of an eruption. Afterwards, equipped with strings, torches and helmets you will visit a lava cave.
Back on the 4WD to reach Rifugio Ragabo for an exciting “off-road” itinerary that allows you to visit some of the best preserved natural sites through the centuries-old Ragabo Pinewood and along the last eruption of 2002. During the stops our expert guide of the Etna volcano territory will tell you the history of the place where you stop.
The quad bike tour lasts about 1 hour, with departure and arrival at the Ragabo Refuge – Etna Nord.
The route is simple and panoramic, for 90% of the route we drive off-road with the quad bike. Quads are automatic and easy to drive. In maximum safety they can transport even 2 people.
