TAORMINA’S COASTLINE
Explore the charming Taormina’s coastline. The Pearl of the Mediterranean sea has a particular seaside scenery with many caves and coves carved from wind blowing all around the rocky promontory outstanding from the sea. We navigate around the large Bay of Giardini Naxos with the scenery of Mount Etna in the background till the Capotaormina so named because the town itself has been founded from Greeks on this hill on the 5th BC.
The area is perfect for swimming and snorkel. The particular mixing of sand and local stone creates fascinating colours, brilliant reflection from the bottom such as a natural caribbean pool.
Then we continue navigating to the most renewed spot of Taomina, the Isola Bella bay where outstands the gorgeous island and its lush vegetation. You notice a house on the top of it which has been a significant part of the Dolce Vita of Taormina in the 50s.
The Grotta Azzurra is located inside the opposite rocky promontory, famous for the brilliant blue water due to a particular reflection of the sunlight during the first part of the day when it shines directly from east inside the grotto.
Finally we continue around the Bay of Mazzarò, the smallest of this itinerary with some of the most important 5 stars hotels of Taormina’s seaside.
Finally we turn around some particular rocks positioned on the middle of the coastline and carved by wind blowing to navigate the last large Bay of Spisone with its long sandy beach and small coastal villages closing with cape of S.Alessio where stands the omonymous tower.
